As much as their first season in the Sevenoaks
and District League was a great success by winning the Division
2 title and finishing runners-up in the Smith's (Junior)
Cup of 1935, the intervention of World War II was to obviously
have a detrimental effect on the football club as a whole.
The club still managed to play throughout the
war in some capacity however, by playing in a mini-league,
with teams from Borough Green, Wrotham, Wrotham Heath, Crouch,
Ightham, Stone Street, Seal and Kemsing all participating.
A similar mini-league was also setup in Sevenoaks
itself, for local teams to be able to play without being
caught too far from home in the event of an air raid.
It was only after the war that Platt began
to put together a side that was to become established in
Division 1 of the Sevenoaks and District League. It was also
not until the season of 1950-51 that they were pushing for
honours in the top flight, by picking up the runners-up position.
The following season, they went one better
by becoming champions of Division 1 for the first time.
For all the league honours gained by Platt
teams in the Sevenoaks and District League, including final
league tables, see below.
